Overview
Trezor Suite is the official desktop and web application made to manage Trezor hardware wallets. This guide takes you from unboxing through setup, basic use, and security best practices. Keep your recovery materials offline and follow device prompts carefully during the setup process.
What you'll need
A Trezor device (Model T, Model One, or Trezor Safe), a computer with a supported OS, and a secure, private place to write/store your wallet backup. Allow about 15–30 minutes for initial setup.
Step 1 — Download & install Trezor Suite
Use the official Trezor download page to get the desktop app or open the suite in your browser. Installing the desktop version gives the full experience; the web app is a valid alternative if you prefer not to install software.
Step 2 — Connect your device
Plug your Trezor into the USB port and follow on-screen instructions in Trezor Suite. If firmware is missing or outdated, Trezor Suite will prompt you to install or update firmware — only approve firmware updates after confirming they originate from the Trezor app.
Step 3 — Create wallet backup
During setup you will generate a wallet backup (formerly called a “recovery seed”). Write down the backup exactly as shown on the card or sheet provided. Do not store your backup digitally or photograph it.
Security tips (short)
1) Verify you downloaded the Suite from the official site. 2) Never share your backup phrase. 3) Use a PIN and enable passphrase features if you want extra protection. 4) Keep device firmware up to date using the Trezor Suite prompts.
Using Trezor Suite — basic actions
Trezor Suite supports viewing balances, sending and receiving assets, and integrations for buying/selling/swapping. You can also manage accounts, inspect addresses, and verify transactions with the device screen before confirming.
Troubleshooting & support
If your device is not recognized, try a different USB cable/port, confirm OS compatibility, and consult the official support guides. For firmware or device replacement questions, contact Trezor support directly through the official support channels.
